SAFETY PARTNERS: THE SAFETY EXPERTS
Risk Management for Managers and Supervisors
Risk Management training equips managers and supervisors with a solid understanding of WHS principles, as well as techniques for applying best WHS practices within your workplace. We have partnered with numerous organisations to develop robust Safety Management Systems. Our experience highlights that the most crucial element of any system is the people responsible for implementing it. Prioritising effective Risk Management training for your frontline managers and supervisors is essential to foster a workplace culture focused on safety awareness, knowledge, and adherence to your Safety Management System.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for those in management or supervisory roles, but it is also highly beneficial for workers to understand these principles and their own responsibilities.
What will they learn?
This package is a combined theoretical and practical session. Participants will be informed about the increasing regulatory responsibilities of “officers” under the “harmonised” WHS Act 2011 and develop skills in the practical application of risk identification, assessment and hazard control.
On completion of this training participants should be able to:
- Understand the work, health, and safety (WHS) legal obligations of PCBUs, officers, workers, and others under the WHS Act 2011.
- Recognise the significance of workplace health and safety consultation.
- Define what constitutes a hazard and explain the concept of risk.
- Conduct an effective workplace inspection.
- Use documentation to:
- Assess hazards identified during the workplace inspection practical exercise
- Determine how to eliminate or control risks.
- Manage risks by documenting appropriate recommendations for hazard elimination or control to ensure the health and safety of all individuals in the workplace.
- Develop a Safe Operating Procedure (SOP) from a workplace risk assessment.
Duration
Each training session will run for six hours, with an additional 30-minute lunch break, as well as time allocated for set-up and pack-down.
